Idag var första dagen på jobbet och det var inte alls så bra som jag trodde det skulle vara. Jag hade ju ett önskemål om att få hamna inom mödravården och det fick jag men när jag kom till sjukhuset så blev jag genast inskjutsad i förlossningsrummet där det låg tre kvinnor. Två av kvinnorna var i full färd med att krysta och den tredje hade spruckit hela vägen och de föste upp allt blodet som hon hade förlorat i en plasthink.
Ingen presenterade sig eller gav mig någon introduktion. Jag visste inte vad jag skulle göra, vart jag skulle gå eller någonting. Detta trots att jag ändå fått en handdledare som skulle ta hand om mig. Det kändes bara som att jag var ivägen och att de inte ville ha mig där. Jag hoppas verkligen att det blir bättre imorgon för det här är inte kul.
Jag gick hem till lunchen och valde sedan att inte gå tillbaka till sjukhuset efteråt. Egentligen behöver vi bara vara där på förmiddagen och eftermiddagen är frivillig och det var jag ju inte jättesugen på.
Den ena av oss 3 tjejer som bor i huset gick tillbaka till jobbet och vi andra två åkte in till Moshi med dala-dala som är en sorts minibuss. Det var tur att vi hade Geoffrey, en av killarna som bor i huset brevid som följde med oss för det var verkligen en speciell upplevelse. En dala-dala har tekniskt sett 9 sittplatser men i bussen var vi upp emot 20 personer så vi satt ju i stort sätt i varandras knän. Jag tyckte det var ganska kul att åka dala-dala, samtidigt som det var skitläskigt. Det var roligt att ha prövat på det men vägsäkerheten är ju väldigt annorlunda från hemma. Jag frågade en av de som jobbar för SWIWSCO som ansvarar för oss här hur många det är som dör i trafiken i Tanzania men hon sa att det inte var så många. Nu vet jag inte hur mycket hon ansågs vara lite men jag tror det är lååångt ifrån Sveriges nollvision för det här är galet.
Att åka dala-dala kostade 400 TNZ, oavsett hur långt man åker. Jag räknar 1000 TNZ som 5 svenska kronor vilket gör att resan med dala-dalan kostade ca 2 kronor. Försök slå det västtrafik!
