Idag fyller Hasan, en av pojkarna som bor på vår gård, 13 år. Det bestämde vi oss för att fira genom att anordna ett stort kalas och bjuda på kladdkaka och tacos. Vi bar ut våra bord och stolar till gårdsplanen och dukade upp fint med ballonger och blev sammanlagt ett tjugotal personer där inga förutom vi svenskar hade smakat på tacos tidigare. Trots att det var lite knepigt att få ihop alla ”ingredieser” till tacos så tycker jag att vi lyckades bra, det smakade precis som det alltid gör hemma. Tortillabröden blev istället chapatibröd som Nakunda hjälpte oss att steka och de färdigblandade kryddpåsarna blev istället kummin och paprika/chili kryddor men annars så lyckades vi få tag på allt och de flesta tyckte att tacosen var jättegod, lite tveksammare var det med kladdkakan. De flesta av barnen åt upp glassen som var till men inte själva kakan.
Sedan fortsatte kalaset med mängder av popcorn och Ahlgrens Bilar (som var såååå gott!) och tanzaniansk musik och massa dans.
(Den här bilden är inte från idag utan för några veckor sedan men det är i alla fall Hasan, glad som alltid)
I födelsedagaspresent fick Hasan en Manchester United tröja eftersom han älskar fotboll och helst av allt skulle vilja bli professionell fotbollsspelare eller pilot när han blir stor. Han blev så himla glad för presenten och nog lite överväldigad av att få så mycket uppmärksamhet också. Födelsedagar är inte direkt något som man firar här nere – under de senaste åren har det blivit lite vanligare eller populärare, kalla det vad du vill, av influenser från västvärlden. Men eftersom Hasan är ett ”orphan” och hamnade där han bor nu tack vare att Collins (som är SWIWSCO’s grundare) adopterade honom och tre andra pojkar så har födelsedagar aldrig varit särskilt viktigt eller något att bry sig om så det kändes kul att kunna ge honom det här..
Nu ska jag snart gå och lägga mig, är helt slut trots att jag inte gjort något speciellt idag. Men imorgon ska vi åka iväg på en dagsutflykt till Maji Moto – varma källor, en bit utanför Moshi, så det gäller väl att ladda batterierna.
