Idag fick jag vara med på mitt första kejsarsnitt! Det var väldigt intressant men mycket kladdigare än jag trott. Men det kladdiga berodde främst på att läkarna råkade skada tarmen på något sätt så att det var faeces överallt (hej bukinflammation!). Det var den första operationen som jag fått vara med på och mitt första intryck var att det inte var så illa som tidigare volontärer berättat (bortsett från den skadade tarmen). Vi var tvungna att byta kläder och skor, ha långärmade rockar på oss och även mask över munnen – det behövde jag ju inte ens ha när jag fick vara med på en TC operation i Sverige. Däremot så tror jag inte att mamman hade tillräckligt mycket smärtlindring eftersom man hörde att hon hade ont under hela förlossningen.
(Ni kanske inte ser det men jag ler faktiskt på bilden ^^)
En annan udda sak som hände idag var att vattnet i kranarna, duschen (och den hittils fungerande toaletten) inte fungerade på morgonen. När jag kom hem till lunchen fungerade det fortfarande inte men det kom igång efter en stund men då var vattnet verkligen iskallt! Visserligen så har jag börjat vänja mig vid kalla duschar men det här tog verkligen priset. Trots det så är det otroligt hur snabbt man anpassar sig. Nu är det ju nästan vanligtvist skönt att att duscha, något som för en vecka sedan kändes väldigt avlägset.
Ikväll ska vi ut och äta i Moshi. Det är avskedsmiddag för Setareh som åker hem imorgon. Det kommer kännas konstigt utan henne.
