Minns ni den här bilden som jag postade efter första natten här? Varje morgon i tre veckor framåt vaknade jag upp med över 30 nya ”myggbett” över hela kroppen och jag kunde inte förstå vad jag gjorde för fel med myggnätet på natten, min rumskamrat fick ju inga alls. Det spelade ingen roll att jag gick runt med långbyxor och tjocktröjor från klockan fyra på eftermiddagen eller dränkte mig i myggmedel, jag fick bett ändå.
Tillslut nådde jag liksom till bristningsgränsen. Jag höll på att bli tokig och orkade inte mer bett. Dom var för många och för stora och kliade alldeles för mycket och jag kände bara för åka hem för att slippa dom. Men så kom Elin och Miriam till huset och efter att de haft problem med vägglöss i deras lägenhet hemma i Sverige hela sommaren så kände de igen problemet.. Det var inte myggbett jag hade utan bett från vägglöss..
Jag fick låna den här impregnerade träbiten av Elin att ha i sängen och det blev min räddning. Från att fått 30+ bett varje natt så har jag i över en veckas tid fått max fem nya bett per natt. Det plus att jag drog ut sängen från väggen och gjorde ”vägglusfällor” så som att tejpa säng benen med den klistriga sidan utåt för att lössen skulle fastna i klistret etc. I tisdags var de här och sprayade hela huset med någon form av insektsgift, inte för att jag tror att de egentligen visste vad de sysslade med men ändå.
Efter att första chocken lagt sig så var ändå första instinkten att jag ville raka av mig håret och bränna alla mina kläder. Allt för att inte riskera att ta med mig det hem till Sverige. Herregud de där hemma ville ju inte ens ha hem mig med alla äckliga parasiter jag skulle kunna dra med mig i resväskan.
Men efter att ha gjort en del googlande och pratat med proffsen här nere så har jag lugnat ner mig. Det är egentligen inte såååå himla farligt. Lössen dör i 50 plusgrader eller några minusgrader så när jag kommer hem så är det bara att köra mängder med 60-tvättar och det som inte går att tvätta får hamna i frysen några dygn. Vad gäller resväskan så hoppas jag bara att det är riktigt kallt när jag kommer hem (men hallå, det är den 22 november, mitt i allt pepparkaksbak och prep för jul. Det borde vara kallt ute då annars är det något fel) så att jag kan lämna resväskan ute ett tag.
Det här kommer lösa sig, nu är jag inte alls orolig eller äcklad. Jag är inte lika bortskämd eller petig längre, en av alla de fördelar den här resan gett mig..
