Vilken fantastisk dag vi har haft! Det har varit jättekul! Idag åkte vi till Maji Moto – en varm källa ungefär halvvägs mellan Moshi och Arusha och det var helt otroligt! Jag hade hört mycket gott om det men det är verkligen svårt att beskriva stället rättvist. Det känns som att ni inte riktigt kommer förstå hur väl jag än beskriver det eller hur många bilder jag än visar, det är något som man måste vara där för att förstå. Men jag ska försöka och förhoppningsvis göra er lite avundsjuka på köpet..
Vid 10 tiden imorse så kom bilen och guiderna och hämtade upp oss och sedan åkte vi i ungefär en timme till en Masai by. Även om just det stället var väldigt ”turistigt” och lite av ett skådespel så var det väldigt intressant att få se. Vi fick se deras hus, gosa med bebis getter (är det dom som kallas för kid?) och självklart se männen i deras typiska röda kläder uppträda med sång och dans och deras populära hopp. Det var väldigt kul.
Sedan fortsatte vi vår färd i cirka 40 minuter innan vi kom fram till Maji Moto. Färden dit var ganska intressant, det såg ut och kändes som att vi åkte genom ett ökenlandskap. Asfaltsvägen hade vi lämnat för länge sedan och nu var det bara röd jord att köra på och så växte det låga buskar och kaktusar överallt. Väldigt annorlunda om man jämför med där vi bor där det finns massor av träd med löv och på riktigt fina ställen även gräs. Men helt plötsligt, mitt i den här ”öknen” så ploppar det upp massa vanliga träd och buskar. Bara sådär, mitt ute i ingenstans. Vi var framme!
Jag höll på att tappa andan när vi fick se källan. Vattnet var helt turkost tack vare den ljusa bottnen och vattnet genomskinligt och klart. Längs med kanterna växte det gröna fina växter och det fanns en trägunga som man kunde hoppa ner i vattnet med.
Själva vattnet var alldeles lagom varmt. Inte så varmt som till exempel i en bubbelpool men tillräckligt varmt för att man kunde vara i vattnet en timme utan att frysa eller känna att man måste gå upp. Vattnet var också på sina ställen ganska strömt eftersom det är grundvatten som kommer upp och sedan försvinner igen och det var jättekul att glida med strömmen och sedan kämpa för att simma tillbaka.
Stället var väldigt likt ett äventyrsbad fast det fanns på riktigt – alla de roliga sakerna som borde finnas på ett badhus fanns här. Strömmen, gungan och massa exotiska växter och olika gömmor att upptäcka och jag vet en pojke (okej, två 😉 ) där hemma som skulle älskat att leka här i några timmar.
I vattnet så levde också Garra Rufa – en fisk som äter död hud, och som är populärt på spa nu för tiden, helt naturligt. Men de nafsade aldrig på mig (vilket var synd eftersom jag sett fram emot det, det är ju härligt med sånt) men jag tror att det var för att jag befann mig för mycket i det strömma vattnet.
Som sagt så har det varit en fantastisk dag och jag och Rebecka planerar redan på att åka tillbaka om ett tag eftersom vi ska vara här så länge. Det är verkligen ett ställe som är värt att upplevas igen!
